Governor Ned Lamont Proclaims January 27, 2020 Big Brothers Big Sisters Day in Connecticut!
To commemorate National Mentoring Month (January 01 – January 31), and to recognize Big Brothers Big Sisters for providing life-changing mentoring services to at-risk children and their families in the state down the decades, Governor Ned Lamont proclaimed January 27, 2020 Big Brothers Big Sisters Day in Connecticut. The proclamation was presented to Ted Cutler, Chairman of the Board at Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Andy Fleischmann, Nutmeg’s President & CEO. The event took place at the State Capitol Building in Hartford. A contingent of “Bigs” (adult mentors) and “Littles” (the children they mentor) were in attendance as were parents of the children and a number of Big Brothers Big Sisters Board members and Big Brothers Big Sisters staff members. For many of the “Littles” it was their first visit to the Connecticut State Capitol. They were thrilled to see the historic building, shake hands with Governor Lamont, and witness the presentation of the proclamation along with their Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
