Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters recently held its Annual Golf Classic at the Golf Club of Avon. The event drew over 245 golfers and raised over $207,000. Following a day of golf action on the perfectly manicured course, everybody gathered at the clubhouse for a cocktail hour, a live and silent auction, raffles, a delicious dinner and remarks delivered by Big Brother Mark Perkins and his Little Brother Roy’Al. The evening’s master of ceremonies was Tim Lammers, anchor of the Fox 61 weekday morning news show. The daylong fundraiser’s objective was to move as many children as possible off Nutmeg’s waiting list and into life-changing match relationships with inspirational adult volunteers.
