Foster Grandparent Program

Program Overview

Since 1965, our Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) has brought experienced and loving tutors and mentors to children and youth with special needs. These dedicated Foster Grandparents, aged 55 and over, provide crucial support in schools, offering one-on-one attention and guidance. With a commitment of 15 to 40 hours a week, Foster Grandparents review schoolwork, reinforce core values, and create lasting connections.

Eligibility and Benefits

If you’re 55 or older and passionate about making a difference, you’re eligible to join our Foster Grandparent Program. Based on income guidelines, you may receive a stipend. All FGP volunteers are covered by accident and liability insurance, receive meals while on duty, transportation reimbursement, and monthly training.
