There is always a need for mentoring volunteers at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Connecticut – especially for male volunteers with diverse backgrounds, such as African American, West Indian or Latinx. The need for volunteers has been especially pronounced following the merger of Nutmeg Big Brother Big Sisters and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Connecticut in February. Now, instead of looking at just 132 of the state’s municipalities for volunteer mentors, the expanded organization needs to recruit from all 169 of Connecticut’s cities and towns. President and CEO Andy Fleischmann touches on this and related mentoring  topics during the more than 2- minute interview.
