2018 Children’s Champions Awards
On Thursday, February 8, Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters hosted the annual Children’s Champions Awards event at the Mark Twain House and Museum in Hartford. Prior to the awards, remarks were offered to the audience by Big Brother Mark Perkins and his Little Brother Roy’Al, Big Sister Allison Ahearn , her Little Sister and Juliana’s mom, Marycruz. Little Brother Anand was also one of the speakers.
The winner of the evening’s Arthur Director Memorial Award was Eileen Ossen, Executive Director of the Windham-based Jeffrey P. Ossen Family Foundation. David Director, President of Connecticut Lighting Centers in Hartford and Southington was the recipient of a Visionary Leader Award. Also receiving a Visionary Leader Award was JoAnn Price, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Fairview Capital and a member, since 2015, of Nutmeg’s Strategic Advisory Council. John Beyer and Laura Beyer were presented a Children’s Champion Award. John Beyer is President, CEO and Co-Founder of Realized Solutions, Inc. in Southington. Laura Beyer is the Marketing Director at Realized Solutions.
Finally, Bank of America was presented with a Children’s Champions Award. Accepting on behalf of the bank was Joe Gianni, Bank of America’s Market President for Hartford.
