Mother of 4 Hartford Boys Receives First Ever Parent Partner Award from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Connecticut

This year marks the first time the Parent Partner Award has been presented by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Connecticut. It was received by Nija Deleon-Saunders of Hartford at the recent Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Year Awards event. Nija’s four boys are currently being mentored in the Big Brothers Big Sister’s Community-Based Program. Nija and her boys were recently interviewed by WTNH news reporter/producer Sarah Cody for an interview which ran on the station’s Connecticut Families series. It also ran on WCTX, the WTNH sister station in the state. During the interview, Nija talks about having mentors from Big Brothers Big Sisters, and how having mentors helped her out by making her life a whole lot yes frenzied and complicated – especially during the pandemic.
